When our family friend from Switzerland let us know he would be in town for the weekend, we knew we had a limited time to really show him Toronto’s sights, sounds and food! We decided to go ALL IN and made reservations for CN Tower’s 360 restaurant prix fixe lunch.
If you’re in Toronto for the first time you have to visit the tower. Yes, it’s a touristy experience but the views are spectacular especially if you’re dining in the 360 restaurant which turns 1 full rotation every 72 minutes. You literally get to see everything!
The lunch menu has a wide selection of offerings – they even have a special vegetarian menu for the herbivores out there.
What we loved
I love cauliflower purée! The pickerel was well done and lemon caper beurre blanc was tangy but not over powering.
Calf Liver and Sweet Breads
My mom ordered this as she loves liver! While I don’t share her fondness for that particular organ, I do love sweet breads and managed to snag one off her plate. Great hearty flavours here.
Chocoholics – if you’re gonna be 1,151.6 ft off the ground you as well make your bird’s eye view perfect with this dessert.
What we wouldn’t order next time
Mussels and Clams
Any time mussels are on the menu it’s the first thing I order. While the seafood was fresh there just wasn’t enough tomato saffron broth leaving the clams and mussels to taste bland. The container also didn’t make it easy for you to get to the broth which was buried under the shells.
Flavours were on point but the toast a little too hard. Toppings fell off easily so you weren’t really getting the full bite experience.
After our meal we decided to explore the Glass Floor and Look Out Floors which were complimentary with our meals!
Hope Tito Fidel enjoyed his meal and this unique perspective of Toronto! Can’t wait to visit him in Switzerland soon!
