Thanks to Arthur the Aardvark for making library’s fun again 🙂 So lucky to visit the new Toronto Public Library’s Fort York Branch for it’s grand opening. It is a beautiful space that does away with the stuffy and dark libraries of the past.
Instead we get this beautiful space filled with lots of light, a nice reprieve from all the construction going on around outside.
They have some pretty awesome gadgets like a 3D printer. They even provide 3D printing certification classes so you can make your very own 3D models… like this …
While the library is a little inaccessible due to construction, it is conveniently located near the BIG CANOE. Sorry I’m a little obsessed with this canoe, every time I pass by it on the highway I am constantly thinking “I want to go to there.” And Ta-da! It was everything I wanted it to be!
So if you’re looking for a new space to study (goodbye, Starbucks!) or just a cool place to hang out and READ BOOKS, this is a pretty awesome place to be! Do you have a favourite library or reading spot in the city? Let me know in the comments!
