Thank you so much to my friends at Make a Wish Canada for inviting me to participate in this year’s Rope for Hope! @KTw1tty did this awesome event last year and had amazing things to say about the experience. It was really thanks to her that I found the courage to do it!
Rope For Hope has fundraisers rappelling down some of Canada’s tallest buildings. I got to rappel down City Hall’s 30 storeys on Thursday and had an awesome time. I’ve done ziplining all around the world, but rappelling is definitely a different beast!
Over the edge staff members helped us get all set up for the event making sure we had all our gear on and ready to go. We even did a small practice run on a set of stairs to help calm our nerves. And then before you knew it we were on our way!
Here’s a video of me on the way down:
Thanks to the Over the Edge and Make A Wish TCO Staff for helping me on my first ever rappel! And today there will be over 100 people making the same journey down City Hall, all in support of national and local Make A Wish programs.
I can honestly say it’s a once in a lifetime experience and something that I’d like to do again, here in Toronto and maybe one day in another city like Montreal, Ottawa and Halifax!
And don’t for get you can still donate and support the fundraisers rappelling today! Visit RopeForHope.ca, donate and make sure to participate next year!
