My friend Monnie has been a big fan of School in Liberty Village for many years. Unfortunately, the last few times I’ve attempted to eat here class has been full (ha-ha). But what’s true in school is true in brunch: the early bird gets the worm, or in this case the mouthwatering stack of pancakes.
So yes, prepare to wait in line even at 10:00 in the morning – Liberty Village you love to get your day started early!
Here’s just a taste of what you’ll get if you’re a good teacher’s pet. And as for the school puns – can’t stop, won’t stop!
School’s got a big space but it fills up quickly so make sure you get here early, especially if you have a big group.
The menu is solid and includes all your classic brunch staples. First Period – Huevos 101: How to style your guac and beans. A+ for plating!
Next subject – Math. Crispy Fried Chicken + Fresh Made Waffle + Tobasco-Pepper Honey + Crunchy Cabbage Slaw = One Satisfied Belly.
Finally, Canadian History with the Hashbrown Poutine. Originating in Quebec in the 1950s, when restauranteur Fernand Lachance, is said to have exclaimed, “ça va faire une maudite poutine” … ok, you can wiki it later. Just drool over it now:
Class ends with a report card detailing all of your best decisions made during class (every delicious decision):
Good Food. Efficient Service. Long Wait Time but Worth it.
Home Work: Plan to Eat Here and Report Back to Me!
