It’s always a wonderful day when our friends from San Francisco come home. And it’s an even better day if we get the chance to brunch with these two lovely people.
Mostly because they are both foodies at heart but also partly because Isabelle is always down to make lots of funny faces.
We decided to try an old favourite but a new location: Starving Artist on St. Clair. A more spacious version of their Lansdowne location, however it fills up fast so if you plan to come with more than two people get here before noon.
We all tried a little something from different parts of the menu. If you don’t already know, Starving Artist’s pièce de résistance is the waffle, and they offer it in all shapes and sizes!
The Waffle Sandwich: Waffles without the need for utensils? Amazing.
The Minature Waffle: I don’t know why they don’t offer this size in more places. One of the worst things about waffles is that they’re so huge you almost never finish them before they get soggy. Problem solved, friends!
The Benny Waffle: Eggs Benedict just got better (yes it’s possible) with Mini Waffles replacing the english muffins. If you want to take it up another notch you can switch up your mini waffles to Potato Waffles like I did!
Lastly if you’re struggling to decide, why don’t you chomp on some waffle bacon while you wait? A delicious slice of bacon pressed into a waffle suit with a side of syrup for dipping.
Great waffle-y feast made better with wonderful friends!
