Bop bopa-a-lu a whop bam boo!
I had a lovely Sunday date with this little munchkin and her mom and we started our day by trying out Tutti Frutti for brunch.
As it was my first time in a Tutti Frutti, I was surprised to learn it is a chain brunch restaurant with 40 locations all over Quebec and Ontario! I wasn’t sure if this would mean a passable breakfast or something a bit more…
But what we got was a pleasant surprise! Hooray! Charlie went sweet and had HANSEL & GRETEL from the kid’s menu
Caryl went with TOM ET GERRY (this selection was mostly due to cartoon nostalgia)
Marcie went with ASPARAGUS & SWISS CHEESE Eggs Benedict
What We Loved
The Home Fries!
My absolute favourite part of the meal. They were small circular slices that were crispy on the outside and a nice soft texture on this inside. Wanna take it up a notch? Add some sauteéd onions to them like I did! So good!!
What Needs Improvement
The Air Conditioning
It was sweltering hot in Ottawa this weekend and while the Merivale location is a fairly big space with high ceilings it just got too hot in there. And then by the time the food comes you feel like you’re over heating. Please fix the air conditioning!
All in all not a bad breakfast but hoping next time we go we’ll feel a lot more comfortable! While the menu isn’t the most creative one we’ve encountered, like our brunch at Murray St Kitchen, they deliver on their brunch standards.
So next time you’re in Ottawa. Check them out! Can’t wait til’ next brunch!
