There was a little hiatus on the blog while @lifewithcocoa and I prepared, travelled and then RECOVERED from our epic adventures in Paris and Zurich!
If you haven’t started following me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, do it now! Our official travel monkey mascots Darcy and Liam took over our social pages to bring snap shots of our monkey business during our journey!
I wanted to highlight one of our favourite parts of our trip: THE WINE. In France it was everywhere! And we had a wonderful time drinking and enjoying it!
We did our first wine review during our Fat Tire Bike Tour of Versailles – the ONLY way to enjoy Versailles! We highly recommend this tour as well as going on a Sunday if you can. They have a wonderful expanded farmers’ market on Sundays so you get a better selection for your picnic lunch on the tour.
Here we are during that wonderful picnic lunch, enjoying the last true summer day in Paris and enjoying a Sancerre Red and Sancerre White:
Later on in the week we went on a tour with Paris Wine Day Tours with our lovely guide JB!
He was enthusiastic and passionate, filled our heads with wonderful wine facts and filled our bellies with delicious wine from Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume!
I reviewed highlights of the tour here:
Our favourite memory and quote to sum up our time in France from JB:
It’s not about how the wine tastes, it’s about how the wine makes you feel.
We left France with a greater appreciation for wine and a thirst (literally and figuratively) for the next time we will be tasting wine in this beautiful country!
