- A period of short sleep, often 20-30 minutes in length with the purpose of refreshing or recharging prior to dancing at ‘da club’
Now I’m not sure if that’s what they mean by disco at the Lakeview Restaurant but one thing is sure: Their Disco Breakfast will keep you dancing for hours.
Open 24 hours the Lakeview Restaurant has an expansive menu that will keep you full at breakfast lunch and dinner with diner staples and even some classics with a twist. Let’s start off with our favourite find: the Disco Breakfast
Part of the Disco Fries and Poutine section of their menu, this hearty meal adds maple sausage and bacon bits to fresh cut fries. Havarti and Cheddar are melted over top and finished with a sunny egg. There’s nothing to hate in this meal!
As Lindsay says, “Why mess with a classic!” So if you like the classical, no self-respecting diner would be without delicious deep fried pickles (pictured above) and of course, let’s not forget classic poutine:
Cheese curds and your choice of beef or mushroom gravy over fresh cut fries. If you do want to change it up, you can substitute the fries for sweet potato fries or add a few extra toppings like bacon bits, pulled pork or peameal. Yum!
Lastly, we tried the deep fried mac and cheese balls. They weren’t our favourite, I found them a little over done and overly breaded, taking away from that Mac n’ Cheese texture.
But overall, the Lakeview Restaraunt has my thumbs up. There’s just so much to try on this menu! Including old fashion milkshakes, burgers, bennies and even some pretty interesting salads.
If you happen to be in the west end of the city, head over to Lakeview for brunch or event a little pre-dancing pick me up if your disco nap doesn’t quite get you recharged 😉
