When our bestie Brittini came up to Toronto last weekend my friends Chelsea, Rachel and I knew we had to take her somewhere special. Chelsea suggested Le Sélect, a French Bistro on Wellington Ave W and a pleasant surprise from it’s mostly industrial neighbours.

You feel like you’ve been transported to France, the interior is filled with that charm that you can only find in Paris. We in Toronto are lucky to have just a little slice of it! We ordered our meals and love everything they served to us! Chelsea went sweet with the interesting kefir huckleberry pancakes.

They serve it topped with whipped apple cider and candied root vegetables. The kefir makes these pancakes extra light and fluffy.
Rachel went with the Traditional French Onion Soup. I love how loaded this looks. They do not skimp on the cheese! Rachel was full for hours later!

Brittini and I both went for quiche. I chose the quiche Lorraine.

They look deceptively small and very filling. Quiche is a difficult beast to get right in an individual serving size, you could have too much crust or over cook the middle. It did not happen here. If anything their quiche was extra cheesy!
And we weren’t done yet. Brittini ordered this beautiful brownie with a scoop of Mango sorbet.

I was feeling in an ice cream mood and had a trio of sorbets and ice cream. My favourite was lychee:

And how could you go to Paris without sampling creme brulee? Their brulee was that perfect custard consistency.

We continued our food filled day with a trip Holt Renfrew and a stop at Jelly Modern’s pop up!

They even had their special Holiday Donut out. I love the little red marshmallow mitten!

I hope Brittini enjoyed her day in Toronto! We certainly loved spending the day with you. We’re already looking forward to spoiling you with another brunch surprise next time you’re in town!

If you’re yearning for Paris, make sure to head over to Le Select Bistro, it’s cheaper than a flight to France.
’til next brunch…
