Anytime I ask for a recommendation on the BEST brunch place in Montreal, the answer is unanimously Restaurant L’Avenue. Friends and critics agree that there is no other place like it, and that it has the most kickass eggs benedict in the city! This past weekend I got the opportunity to see what all the hype is about, and tagging along with me, my very own eggs benny connoisseur – Benny and Chris!

We arrived at the restaurant and already there was massive line up outside the door – a good sign! After 40 minutes of waiting in the rain we were able to snag a table for two.

I loved the interior of this place. I never expected the awesome graffiti wall or the unexplained Mannequins scattered all over the restaurant.

Our meal started with a fresh skewer of fruits. I love pineapple but it can sometimes be hit and miss. Theirs was very juicy and sweet!

For our mains we decided to test their eggs benedicts out first hand. How could we pass up the opportunity to try them at this eggs benny mecca? First up, Chris’ choice the Duck Confit Eggs Benedict.

I decided to choose the Chorizo Eggs Benedict which was flavourful and that perfect level of spicy. And the heat from the chorizo worked really well with the sautéed veggies.

Both dishes come with a ramekin of their home fries, but the eggs are honestly so filling, I didn’t have any room for them. They make hearty meals here!
They brought out my smoothie last: mango, pineapple and lychee smoothie and it was an excellent dessert and i loved the mini skewer of fruit they dressed the drink with.

Overall, the hype was not over rated. There are definitely some quality restaurants here in Montreal and if you’re looking for brunch, look no further than Restaurant L’Avenue. Worth the wait, although, I still don’t get the mannequins.

’Til next brunch!!
Looks amazing!
